Couples' Escape Itinerary

Morning

Begin your couples' trip to Victoria at Liberty Coffee Haus. Order a delicious specialty coffee drink, espresso, or breakfast pastry and enjoy some conversation with your significant other at this historic downtown lounge.

After breakfast, take a short drive to the Athey Nature Sanctuary Birding Deck, adjacent to Riverside Park. From there, stroll hand-in-hand on the trails of the Athey Nature Sanctuary. Listen to the calls of numerous species of birds while the sunlight peeks through the trees. The nearby Memorial Rose Garden is also a great spot, with hundreds of beautiful rose bushes creating a romantic scene.

Afternoon

Take a drive back to Downtown Victoria and stop by Vela Farms for an incredible lunch with homemade dishes like meatloaf, King Ranch casserole, and turkey and dressing.

Next, experience an afternoon of delectable wine tastings in a beautiful country setting at Gulf Breeze Winery, Victoria's first winery! After that, take in some of Victoria's wonderful arts scene at The Nave Museum and the Five Points Museum of Contemporary Art.

Finish off your afternoon outdoors at the Victoria Educational Gardens. Enjoy a relaxing walk among the native Texas and exotic plants in one of the themed gardens. It's open daily from dawn to dusk and admission is free!

Evening

Check out the The Pumphouse Riverside Restaurant and Bar for dinner. Located right on the Guadalupe River, the PumpHouse has one of the best patio music scenes in Texas. Enjoy a romantic evening overlooking the river with an evening breeze, great food, cool drinks and live music.

If it’s a Friday or Saturday night, don’t pass up Pizza Night at Huvar’s Artisan Market. Their made-from-scratch pizzas, cooked in a wood-fired oven, are a local favorite.

Take your loved one out on the town at Greeks 205, located in beautiful Downtown Victoria. Their outdoor patio is one of the best spots in town for live music. Looking for a great place to dance?

Newly-restored Schroeder Hall, the second-oldest dancehall in Texas, plays host to live bands every weekend and on occasion major country music acts. Take in the history of this genuine Texas dancehall as you boot-scoot across the hardwood floors.
